Corn on the Cob
I love Corn on the Cob.
But for years I've struggling with cooking it properly.
But for years I've struggling with cooking it properly.
too many cobs don't fit in the pot..
and what kind of pot should one use?
do they make rectangular sized pots?
no.
no they don't.
no they don't.
so once I do find something that fits..
how long do you cook it?
6 minutes? 8 minutes? 10 minutes?
then I usually burn myself draining the hot water out.
and the corn is usually tough.
and the corn is usually tough.
WELL NOT ANYMORE.
My first kitchen tip:
HOW TO COOK CORN ON THE COB
put a paper towel in the microwave.
place corn on the cob on it.
IN the husks.
place corn on the cob on it.
IN the husks.
cook for 2 minutes.
peel husks off and eat!
Its a big day.
a REAL big day.
a REAL big day.

i can't eat corn on the cob. my overbite prevents me. its a big mess. one would think with these big buck teeth it would work well, but it doesn't.
LOL. I see that rather than start a new blog and have all the trouble of recruiting new readers and making a name for yourself you've decided to go with this one. I'm glad you're getting to express yourself, but one wonders... Is the blogging world really ready for this sort of ground-breaking, delving-into-the-depths-of-the-human-psyche-type posts? I guess we can all only wait with bated breathe to discover the answer...
Does it get gummy and strange or does it taste just like real food? I'm intrigued, if that's how you spell it. If it's not, I'm curious, or interested. Yep, I can spell interested.
It's also really good if you open the husk a bit and pour in melted butter, pull the husks over the cob and twist it shut at the end and then put in on the barbeque for about 10 minutes. Awesome. Grandma always told me to cook it until the white stuff does not come out of the kernels when you poke them. If there is a bit of white milky fluid that comes out, they are not done. That's what I do all the time and always have. You could try that if you wanted.
okay.. Ang?
i decided to try your little tip here the other night. I too can't stand cooking corn on the cob.
karumba.
I'm impressed.
It totally worked! and because of the steam, it was even easier to peel the husks off! wow.
Not gummy at all!
I appreciate footsack's idea of the bbq.. but I don't always fire up the bbq. This is just an 'easier' way.
I am sorry to hear that Theresa... although I don't know her.. has the tooth problem that prevents her from enjoying such a treat.
really is a shame...
but we all have our cross to bear.
I have tried it numerous times, but someone in my family (who shall remain nameless) insists they don't taste as good if you do them in the microwave.
Good post.
