February 1st

On Feb 1st was my friends Birthday. I'm late in posting, because I took my sweet time. This is the cake I made for her. It was my second cake ever made. I mostly try to stick with ice cream cake because I will eat ice cream cake. The first cake was much worse. If you can imagine that.

Dianna feels the need to make me cake even though I hate cake. I don't eat it, but she does it anyways. Although last year, instead of making me a cake she and JP made me a fantastic cheese ball that was way better than cake. This is a picture of a cake she made for me (I think) on my 19th birthday. She showed up at 6-7am at my house for my birthday. She always makes sure people have their special day.

Side Note: That hand belongs to someone who reads this blog and it's not Dianna's. I want to see if you can remember that you were there too.

Dianna and I have shared many birthdays together. We have been friends for many years. Here is a picture of us at Dianna's 19th birthday. Check out our lovely big hair! I got hit on by a lesbian that night. I didn't even catch on. She kept asking me to dance and I thought she was fun, so I would. Until, my lovely friends came up to me and asked what I was doing dancing with that lesbian.

Dianna and I became close through cheerleading in Grade 9. She never dropped me. I loved her. We coached clinics together and became beyond close. Too close. We were far too comfortable with eachother. There are so many memories and stories. I had a lot of fun going through all my old pics. Many I couldn't put up because if anyone knows Dianna they also know, fear, and respect the physical strenth that she is not afraid to unleash on people. I never hit Dianna. And if I manage to tick her off I generally just try and run or hide behind someone. She is gentle and loving too. Seen here after a long day of coaching in Regina (I think).

It's been a long friendship, and I'm glad we are still friends and able to grow together. We went to Switzerland together for the marathon. She has the same arthritis as Becky and totally blew me away with her ability to run through pain. I suppose she is as stubborn as she is strong. She's managed to have two beautiful kids and married her favorite guy Ken. I'm very happy that we are all able to hang out and still have fun together. She is always there to capture me at my best... (JP was there too and can take some credit in this).

Now, that I've posted this picture I think I should be able to put some up of her. Here it comes. I will be waiting with shoulder pads for the giant fist that is going to plow into me after she sees this. It'll be worth it. Let it begin.....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANNIE!
YOU'RE. NUMBER. ONE.

The last pic is my fave.

I need to ask you something though, and since I don't fear your physical strength because even though it is greater than mine we all know that I am tougher than you, I won't even bother ducking for cover the next time I see you... What the froink was going on with that green monstrosity of a shirt? Sheesh. No wonder all you attracted was a lesbian.

I forgot my bar clothes at home. I had to borrow. It was hot. Lesbians have good taste. That's all.

Haha. I love the picture of you with the cake. I think if someone tried to give me cake at 6 in the morning, no matter how well meaning, I'd tell them to shove it and go back to bed. Well, maybe I'd shove some in my mouth, and then go back to bed.

Congratulations, Ang, on yet another very entertaining post. The story of the lesbian killed me.
What a blessing to have a friend like that. Every woman should be blessed with at least one friendship that spans time and endures all the crazy things we do.

looks like i'm safe. she emailed me this morning....

Hi Ang,

You made my day! That was so sweet of you! I'll even forgive you for the huge eyebrow picture....that's a nasty one. I love you. Dianna

Yes I agree that it is nice that you have a friend that has spanned a lifetime.

Of course, its amazing as well since women are genetically predisposed to hating one another and its hard to make it through all the bickering, back-stabbing, and fighting over boys that ends many a friendship. So good on you!

Loved the post. Holy cow, there are birthdays that are happening in Feb. It is great to have a wonderful friend like that. I hope you will still be friends, and terrorizing the nursing homes you will be living in.

Are you kidding me here? What. Is. Your. Problem.

Either you really have no clue, because you have only bothered to expose yourself to one type of female or you get off on being a dickwad.

I'm with Lyle. And, as one of those genetically predisposed females I would like to add that I am still friends with all of my elementary and highschool and university friends. I wonder if Smarmy can say the same thing.

OH DON'T BE SO HARD ON SMARMY. AFTER ALL, HE'S GENETICALLY PREDISPOSED TO BEING IGNORANT AND YET STILL EGOTISTICAL, THINKING THAT EVERYTHING IS ABOUT HIM. HE CAN'T HELP HIMSELF.

PS - I'VE NEVER FOUGHT OVER A BOY. EVER. AND IF I DID BACKSTAB IT WAS BECAUSE I WAS IN HIGHSCHOOL AND IMMATURE NOT BECAUSE I WAS A WOMAN.

The only time I hit another girl was when I was a girl and that is only because she spit on me. I think here name was Sandra Slutter. It wasn't over a guy either. It was all about jacks.(not Jack)

Who the hell is Lyle??

genetically predisposed to hating one another? That's a pretty strong comment. I'm assuming smarmy is a male, cause only a male would say that. Lyle is obviously the voice of reason.

I love Lyle!

Not so much love for Smarmy boss, get over yourself!

Hmmm...I'm assuming Smarmy Boss doesn't have a girlfriend.

I wonder why?

I think if you check up on it, women are much more "prediposed" to having friendships that last a lifetime than men are. I still have 4 very close friends from as far back as I can remember.
The only time I fought with and hit a friend was when Diane Driedger wouldn't let me ride her new bike. I slugged her, she fell off, I rode the bike. The next day I punched out Joe Wiebe because he tried to take her red licorice from her. We still talk to this day.
Smarmy boss needs to experience a friendship like that.
