Tid Bits

So Friday night I went to Moxie's for the first time since the new reno had been done. You would think that going for supper at 9:30 you wouldn't have to wait for a table. But we did. Where do they think we live? New york? Why do they need headsets for the hostesses? So totally lame. Half the restaurant has turned into a bar where old men sit to come stare at young girls. It has turned into Bacha's but worse. Fact is it is not a place any more where Ben can come and be loud and have fun and color. And why redo a whole place when you can't accommodate the people for it? Why not just build two? The menu and prices are the same which I'm happy about but I was totally unimpressed with it. Sure it looks cool and it's nice inside but this is Saskatoon. Eventually the "new" will wear off and all they will have is a bunch of old men sitting at their bar trying to flirt with their waitresses.

This brings me to my next tid bit of the day. I must be getting old when I decide not to like a trendy place because it's no longer kid friendly. When did this change? Three years ago I would have been there with my nice jeans and my dyed hair and my nice shoes ordering a drink. Now I just wanna get my meal and get the frick out because everyone looks so snobby and young.

Next, on the 25th will be my 28th birthday. I usually get really pumped up for this day. Every year I have been going bowling but this year just doesn't feel the same. I just feel old. I am excited because my sister gets to be there this year and I love bowling with her. We are going to Fudd's (kid friendly as it gets) and then bowling and then who knows. I will probably be tired and want to go home to bed after that. So depressing. Last night I couldn't even stay awake for a movie. It was only 9pm. I am becoming my mother which is bringing me one step closer to becoming my grandmother. Hopefully by then I won't care that I'm not that cool person anymore going out all the time. Truth is I don't care much now but a little part of me does. I think its more the part that has nice shoes but I never go anywhere to wear them.

Those liars on the news today said the sun was supposed to come out. I haven't seen it yet. I would really like to go for a run. Maybe that would cheer me up.

Saturday night I watched a totally kick ass movie. Rounders. Its about poker. Doesn't get much better than Matt Damon and Edward Norton in the same movie. John Malkovich was totally awesome in it. I've never seen two kids eat so much in my life. Dianna's children swarmed a bowl of chips and dip, devoured about 20 ginger snap cookies. I don't know what happened. I looked down grabbed a cookie out of a full tupperware. Looked down again and there were two left. After watching Ben and Noah eat food I was absolutely blown away by how much her kids can eat.

Another new obsession. Lime chips. So good. Dianna and Ken eat at least a bag a week. They told me you have to lick the chip first to fully appreciate how good it is. Wow. Amazing. Thanks guys for introducing me to a classy new snack.

You are going to be 28? Holy cow, you are old!! tee hee

The lime chips you were referring to were the nacho chips, then you have to try their hint of Jalapeno ones, They rock too!!

Oh yeah. And you better get jazzed about your birthday party. Do it.

What? No. Yeah!

And I hate lime chips. They were the only kind of chips we could get in Mexico and aside from not being able to eat produce it was the worst thing about being there.

no doubt, get "jazzed"...come on! i can't wait to see you out in some cute shoes, and nice jeans so don't dissapoint! just kidding, remember me on my birthday? "ok, i am pretty much ready to go now".

So you are ONLY 28, that is young, well I am 27 so maybe you are old... If you wanna feel young you should come to Jax when you are done all your family stuff, with all the courgers and old men, you'll feel like a kid again. All I have to say is... keep your hands off Hottie Bouncer!!! HE'S MINE!!!

I was feeling the same way about Moxies, except that at ours they only redid the lounge, not the restaurant and it looks like a trendy classroom. Big long tables with the same laminate top as elementary desks, with pretty red leather chairs. Lots of mirrors, lots of 70's lighting. Not a big fan. Not one little bit. So I sit next to the table of a million 8 year old girls having a birthday party. No problem. Oh my gosh, I just got so excited about having Moxie's food again, I can barely think straight. Bruschetta, or that dip with the goat cheese, tomatoes and mushrooms. Can't wait to get back to the real world. Happy Birthday! Peter's edgy about his too, he's turning 29 soon. Which is very nearly 30. But don't talk about it to him, he's a little funny about it...lol.

LOL I'm 23 and feel like an old lady sometimes, too. Look at the teenagers and think they're a bunch of kids. Sit at home and watch TV and do my latchhook, and go to bed early. But you're not old. You can still wear the nice jeans and shoes and go bowling. Bowling is cool, right?

Rounders is a really good movie, Edward Norton is awesome, one of my favorite actors. Kyle LOVES that movie.

rounders is a total kick ass movie... when becky takes her seat as supreme dictator of the world, i think that we should make it the national movie

and i also understand your feeling old thing... i had to work a high school football game now... i do not like high school kids... not even a little bit... unless you're related to me, you better not be a high school kid... i'll cut you up into little pieces and eat you... wow... where did that come from... so yeah...
